I THINK THEY DID A NICE JOB ON BOTH OF THEM. I WOULD SAY DEFINATELY 8 AND UP WOULD BE ABLE TO DO THIS GAME. WHEN SHE FIRST GOT IT SHE THOUGHT THE GAME WAS A LITTLE HARD AND NEEDED SOME HELP SOLVING THE MYSTERIES. SO, IF YOU OWN THIS OR ARE CONSIDERING PURCHASING THIS ITEM, JUST REMEMBER IN THE LONG RUN, WITH MUCH PRACTICE, YOUR DAUGHTER OR EVEN SON WILL APPRECIATE IT.
SHE READS WELL FOR HER AGE, SO THAT DOES HELP. MY DAUGHTER WHO IS 8 AND WILL BE 9 SOON IS A BIG AMERICAN GIRL FAN, ESPECIALLY KIT. YOUR AMERICAN GIRL FAN WOULD ENJOY BOTH OF THESE GAMES. MY SON ACTUALLY LIKES PLAYING IT TOO, HE IS ALMOST 6 (BUT NEEDS SOMEONE TO HELP HIM WITH THE READING PARTS. ONCE AGAIN IT IS A LITTLE CONFUSING AT FIRST BUT AFTER YOU PLAY IT A FEW TIMES, YOU GET THE HANG OF IT.
EVEN THOUGH MY DAUGHTER HAS SOLVED AT LEAST 3 OF THE MYSTERIES SHE STILL ENJOYS PLAYING THIS GAME OVER AND OVER AGAIN. GRAPHICS ARE VERY WELL DONE. BUT AFTER SOME PRACTICE ON HER OWN, SHE HAS BEEN ABLE TO MAKE GREAT STRIDES ALL BY HERSELF PLAYING THIS GAME. DON'T GIVE UP. MY DAUGHTER ALSO OWNS THE AMERICAN GIRL JULIE GAME TOO.
THEY TOTALLY TWO DIFFERENT GAMES. I TELL THEM. GIVE THIS ONE A TRY, ITS REALLY A GREAT GAME.
I am an American Girl Fan. You don't very often see products like this that are doll oriented. It is easy and fun to play.
I couldn't even say what I thought was the solution. But after a certain point I couldn't go any further with the mystery.
I was so excited. I got this game for Christmas last year.
At first it was easy enough to think you could finish the mystery. It was exactly what I wanted.
That is until I started playing. The game wouldn't let me.
I am so disappointed that I think I should throw it out.
This is purchased as a gift for our daughter. She enjoyed "Kit" the movie. Pleasantly, the plot is completely different from the movie. A definate favorite for any 9-12 year old who likes "Kit" and all those "American Girl" books.
My daughters love this game. It is tricky enough to make it challenging but easy enough for them to do alone. There is a lot of reading with it so for my little one who doesn't read, I had to help out more.
